EU Commissioner for Home Affairs meets President Maia Sandu

EU Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson began her visit to Chisinau with a meeting with President Maia Sandu. After the meeting, Ylva Johansson said that she appreciates the fact that the Republic of Moldova, despite the problems it is facing, is hosting a large number of Ukrainian refugees.

“The European Union supports the Republic of Moldova and is ready to offer even more support,” said the EU Commissioner.

Ylva Johansson’s agenda also includes meetings with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova and the Minister of Internal Affairs, as well as a visit to the Leuseni-Albita border crossing.

After the meeting, the European Commissioner together with the Minister of Internal Affairs will visit the Leușeni state border crossing point and will discuss with FRONTEX officers on mission in the Republic of Moldova, it is mentioned in a press release of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Subsequently, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova and the EU Commissioner for Internal Affairs will hold a press briefing at the Leuseni border crossing point.
