The first meeting of the European Parliament Delegation for Relations with the Republic of Moldova took place after the decision of the European Commission. This historic decision involves initiating accession negotiations with the Republic of Moldova. MEP Siegfried Mureșan shared on Facebook, “Today, I chaired the first meeting of the European Parliament Delegation for Relations with the Republic of Moldova after the historic decision of the European Commission to recommend the start of accession negotiations with the Republic of Moldova.”
“I reminded my colleagues that we, the European Parliament, were the first European institution to call for the start of negotiations with the Republic of Moldova by the end of the year, and we must continue to be the institution that supports the country’s European integration the most. We will visit Chișinău from November 28 to 30 for the meeting of the EU-Moldova Parliamentary Association Committee. We will use this opportunity to convey to our colleagues in the Parliament of Chișinău that they will have the full support of the European Parliament in the process of accession to the European Union,” wrote Siegfried Mureșan.
