FIRST LEGO League Challenge returns to Moldova

After a break of 2 years, FIRST LEGO League Challenge returns to Moldova. Thirty two robotics teams from the country, bringing together 212 students and 47 coaches will design, build and program autonomous robots, will develop innovative projects that will respond to the annual theme of the competition. The event will take place on May 7th – 8th.

More than 200 students from all regions of the Republic of Moldova, grouped in 32 teams, are coming to Chisinau this weekend, to the Class of the Future Center, to present their solutions to the challenges of the time. This year’s theme is the freight transportation system: Cargo Connect. The participating teams will design, build and program autonomous robots, will develop innovative projects on the theme “How do you ensure a fast, cost-efficient, comfortable and environmentally friendly transportation?”.

After the rehearsals of the contest, the awarding of the participants will take place between 4PM – 4:30PM.

The best teams, which will be chosen by a special jury, will be admitted in the final which will take place on May 14th.

FIRST LEGO League Challenge is the largest international competition in the field of technology and robotics, dedicated to children and adolescents aged between 9 and 16 years. Participating teams design, build and program autonomous robots to perform certain predefined missions, as well as develop innovative projects designed to meet the annual theme of the competition.

In our country, the competition is in its seventh edition. The events take place within the National Program for the Study of Educational Robotics and are organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova with the support of USAID Moldova and the Swedish Embassy in the Future Technologies Project.
