A Moldovan delegation will participate in the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). The winter session of the PACE will be held from January 22 to 26 in Strasbourg. MPs Ion Groza, head of Moldova’s delegation, Mihail Popşoi, Vlad Batrincea, Natalia Davidovici, and Adela Reileanu will travel to France.
“The agenda includes discussions on the latest developments in the Middle East, cases of torture in European detention facilities, abuses of the legal system, press freedom and safety of journalists, globalization in times of crises and wars, child abuse in European institutions, the situation of children in Ukraine, trials in Belarus, elections in Serbia, etc.,” the parliament representatives said.

Also, a new PACE president, vice-presidents, and the Council of Europe’s commissioner for human rights will be elected during the winter session.
Moldova has been a member of the Council of Europe since 1995.
