The French Development Agency will provide financial support to the Republic of Moldova for the strengthening of the forestry sector. Members of the parliamentary committee on foreign policy and European integration approved the opinion today to initiate negotiations in this regard, reports MOLDPRES.
The draft agreement for a credit facility, intended to be concluded with the French Development Agency, involves the provision of a loan amounting to 40 million euros. Additionally, the Republic of Moldova will benefit from a grant of 1.2 million euros, offered by the same institution as technical support.

The funds are earmarked for implementing reforms in the forestry sector and its modernization, in line with all the regulations and acquis of the European Union, as well as the commitments of the Republic of Moldova from international agreements.
