In the Republic of Moldova, 81,021 Romanian citizens cast their votes in the parliamentary elections held on December 1, according to data from Romania’s Permanent Electoral Authority, published after the polls closed. Voter turnout surpassed that of the Romanian presidential elections.
Over two days, Saturday, November 30, and Sunday, December 1, 81,021 Romanian citizens in Moldova participated in the elections, 79 more than in the presidential elections held on November 24.
Authorities set up 59 polling stations across Moldova, including Chisinau and other localities.
At 9:00 p.m., immediately after the polling stations closed, the Center for Urban and Regional Sociology (CURS) released the exit poll results.

According to the data, the Social Democratic Party (PSD) received 26% of the votes for the Chamber of Deputies, followed by the Alliance for the Unity of Romanians (AUR) with 19%, the National Liberal Party (PNL) with 15.5%, and the Save Romania Union (USR) with 15.5%. For the Senate, PSD secured 26.1%, AUR 19.2%, PNL 15.9%, and USR 15.6%.
The 2024 parliamentary elections will shape the composition of Romania’s Parliament, with 332 deputies and 137 senators to be elected. Over 6,330 candidates representing 31 parties and 19 national minority organizations are vying for seats. From the diaspora, 18 parties and two independents have entered the race for representation in the new legislature.
