The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) reminds Moldovan voters who have changed their residence since the last elections that they can declare their new residence to the local public administration authority (sector administration or municipality). It allows them to register on the electoral list at the polling station corresponding to their new residence.
Through this procedure, the voter will be registered on the primary electoral list according to their residence, with the note “Declaration of Residence” in the “Note” section.
At the same time, the registrar will automatically remove the voter from the electoral list corresponding to their previous domicile or temporary residence. When the voter submits the declaration, they must present their identity document for verification. The registrar will make the necessary notations in the State Register of Voters and issue a receipt confirming the declaration of the new residence.
The deadline for submitting declarations is no later than 25 days before the election day, which is September 25, 2024, inclusive. The submitted declaration is valid for only one electoral process.
