Ion Ceban criticizes energy tariff hikes and proposes solutions: “The Government has all the legal tools”

Ion Ceban stated that recent increases in heating, electricity, gas, and fuel tariffs will lead to higher prices for all goods and services. He proposed that the Government allow citizens to pay bills in installments throughout the year and cover the price increases from state funds during the cold season.

Ceban also requested that citizens and businesses not be disconnected from gas and electricity supplies in case of unpaid bills.

“Another proposal is for the Government to cover these increases with state funds, ensuring consumers do not face higher bills during the cold season. These costs could then be balanced during the warmer months when heating bills are not an issue.

At the same time, we propose that the Government prevent citizens and businesses from being disconnected from gas and electricity services if debts accumulate,” the mayor’s statement reads.

Ion Ceban emphasized that the Government has all the legal tools necessary to implement these measures. He warned that failure to act could result in people being cut off from essential services or left without enough money for daily expenses.

“The Government has all the legal means, including CSE decisions, to take action instead of making statements and shifting responsibility onto citizens,” Ceban added.
