Irina Vlah, the founder of “Platforma Moldova,” claims that current President Maia Sandu is trying to block her participation in the presidential elections this fall. In a video posted on her Telegram account, Vlah asserts that, according to the plan, “in the first stage, they will attempt to refuse Irina Vlah’s registration for the race under invented pretexts, and various relevant state structures have already received specific instructions on what and how to prepare to set the stage for this.”
“At the same time, they are working on a backup plan – in case they fail to block Irina Vlah at the registration stage for the presidency of Moldova, she will be excluded from the elections at the last minute, again under invented pretexts. Currently, special services and some media outlets controlled by those in power are working to lay the groundwork for this backup plan.
During each of Irina Vlah’s meetings with people in the districts, special service agents take photos. They then send these photos with relevant comments to journalists aligned with the government. They aim to promote the idea that Irina Vlah is either the Kremlin’s candidate, the candidate of Şor, or has suspicious connections with unknown entities, etc. All these so-called press materials are false, and their real purpose is to use these associations as supposed evidence to exclude Irina Vlah from the elections,” asserts the politician.
In her video address, Vlah is convinced that “all these dirty scenarios stem from the government’s completely justified fear that Irina Vlah will defeat Maia Sandu in the presidential elections.”
In this context, the founder of “Platforma Moldova” calls on state institutions to stop the ongoing abuses and promises to inform international institutions and the remaining credible national observers about these illegalities.

In an official response to realitatea.md, the presidential institution stated that they do not comment on Irina Vlah’s statements.
