Maia Sandu Advances Moldova’s EU Accession Talks with Belgian and Irish PMs

The progress of the Republic of Moldova in the process of joining the European Union was discussed by the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium, Alexander de Croo, and with that of Ireland, Leo Varadkar, announces the Presidency.

The head of state spoke about the consistent efforts of the Republic of Moldova in implementing the necessary reforms for the modernization of the country and advancing on the European path. The President highlighted significant progress in fulfilling the recommendations of the European Commission, reflected in the Commission’s report on December 8.

During the discussions, the head of state urged the Belgian and Irish leaders to support the decision to initiate negotiations with the Republic of Moldova as soon as possible. The issue is set to be discussed at the European Council meeting on December 14-15.
