Maia Sandu intervenes in the issue of the long queue of trucks at the border

The President of our country, Maia Sandu, requested the President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian Parliament, Ion-Marcel Ciolacu, that the Romanian authorities intervene as soon as possible to unblock and streamline the traffic of goods at the Moldovan-Romanian border, where we can see long queues of trucks due to the cessation of traditional transport routes. The request was made by the head of state during the meeting she had today, June 6, with a delegation of the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian Parliament, led by Ion-Marcel Ciolacu.

The discussion focused on the difficult regional situation created by the war in Ukraine, as well as on the bilateral agenda.

The head of state thanked Romania for the support provided to our country over the years, including the non-reimbursable aid of 100 million euros, agreed during the joint meeting of the Governments of Chisinau and Bucharest in February, and the 10 million euros, announced at the Berlin Conference in April a.c.

The members of the Romanian delegation expressed their support for the European aspirations of our country, mentioning that today in Romania there is a consensus of all political forces for the European course of the Republic of Moldova

President Maia Sandu mentioned that the Republic of Moldova wants to continue the good cooperation with Romania, especially through projects in the field of transport infrastructure, as well as strengthening the energy security of both countries.
