The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, spoke by phone with the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, about bilateral cooperation and the security situation in the region.
The Head of State expressed her gratitude for Germany’s continuous support for our country, reiterated in the recent Bundestag Resolution, through which German partners remain with us in this difficult period.

President Maia Sandu appreciated Germany’s openness, demonstrated both within the Support Platform for Moldova and during the head of state’s visit to Berlin this fall.
Similarly, Sandu thanked Germany for helping us overcome the crises we are facing, especially the energy crisis.
Thus, Germany recently granted 40 million euros for the Energy Vulnerability Fund, for compensation to citizens and financing of energy efficiency projects.
