President Maia Sandu has announced that consultations with parliamentary parties on the formation of a new government will begin next week, with discussions expected to start on Monday.

The announcement was made in a post on the social media platform X. Sandu reaffirmed that Moldova will remain committed to its goal of European integration.

Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu announced his resignation on July 3. He will continue serving as acting prime minister until a new government is appointed.

Earlier, Sandu said she had taken note of Munteanu’s resignation and rejected claims that he had been prevented from addressing abuses while in office.

Meanwhile, PAS leader and Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu said the ruling party would spend the coming days discussing the next steps, including key reforms, fiscal policy, and public sector salary legislation.
