During the fifth edition of the European Political Community Summit, held in Budapest, Hungary, the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, had several meetings with European leaders, heads of state, and government, with whom she discussed cooperation that brings concrete benefits to Moldovan citizens and joint efforts to protect democracy in our country.
The head of state hosted a meeting with European leaders on strengthening institutions in the face of Moldova’s challenges.
“Through hard work, perseverance, and with the help of friends from all corners of Europe, we will manage to develop Moldova and continue to ensure the country’s security,” the head of state said.
President Maia Sandu also discussed regional security with her Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy. She said that Moldova stands with Ukraine in its struggle for freedom, and we are proud to move forward together towards our common future in the EU.

In talks with the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, Maia Sandu expressed gratitude for the support given to our country and Moldovan citizens living and working in Italy.
The Head of State also talked with the Prime Ministers of Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Luxembourg, Norway, and Sweden, the President of Montenegro, and the Secretary General of the Council of Europe.
The European Political Community is a forum that brings together the countries of the European Union and those outside the bloc to discuss the challenges facing the continent. The Community held its first meeting in Prague in October 2022, and the Republic of Moldova hosted the second in June 2023.
