Mayor Ceban Envisions “Te salut Chișinău” Festival as Calling Card for Moldova’s Capital

On the occasion of Chișinău’s 587th anniversary since its first documented mention, Mayor Ion Ceban expressed his desire for the “Te salut Chișinău” (Hello Chisinau) Festival to become a symbol of the Moldovan capital. He made this statement during a city council meeting, highlighting the massive participation of people in the event.

“Tens of thousands of residents of the capital, as well as guests from both within the country and abroad who specifically came for this event, participated,” said Ceban. “We want the ‘Te salut Chișinău’ Festival to become a calling card for our capital, attracting as many tourists as possible.”

The mayor added that, for the third consecutive year, the anniversary celebrations of Chișinău revolved around this festival, which showcased a blend of traditional, classical, and pop music over the past three days.

In addition to the “Te salut Chișinău” Festival, the mayor mentioned a series of cultural events taking place throughout the day. These include book launches, a documentary film screening, and various exhibitions dedicated to the city of Chișinău.

Among them, at 6:00 p.m., the book “Chișinău through the Mills of Time” by Aliona Grati will be launched. At 9:00 p.m., the documentary film “The Municipal Library ‘B. P. Hadeu’ in the Universe of Chișinău” will be screened.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore an exhibition on the city’s history at the City Hall’s foyer, as well as a poster exhibition titled “Honorary Citizens of Chișinău.” In Mihai Eminescu Square, the painting exhibition “Chișinău through the Mills of Time” by Iraida Ciobanu will be on display.
