Meteorologists have extended the yellow heat code

The National Hydro meteorological Service has extended the yellow heatwave code to the entire territory of the Republic of Moldova, writes Diez.md.

According to meteorologists, the warning is valid during July 26-27, when the maximum air temperature will reach values of 33 °C and more in large areas.

At the same time, we remind you that SHS announced that, between July 23-29, there will be an exceptional danger of fire (class V) of a natural/heatwave nature, as it is possible to ignite agricultural crops, fodder warehouses, areas with forest vegetation, of homes and household annexes.

We remind you that, at the moment, four hydrological and meteorological warning codes are valid in Moldova. The State Hydrometeorological Service issued on July 19, a hydrological warning, consisting of a yellow, an orange and a red code, of low water flow, due to the lack of precipitation and high temperatures.

In this context, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry announced that it will request the Emergency Situations Commission to establish a state of emergency in the field of agriculture.

The same situation is also present in Europe, with more than half of the surface of the European Union, including Great Britain, being affected by drought, according to a study by the Joint Research Center of the European Union.

At the same time, the Romanian Minister of Environment, Water and Forests, Barna Tanczos, declared on Wednesday, July 20, that some local administrations will have to impose restrictions on the use of drinking water.
