The Republic of Moldova borrows another 25 million euros from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, for the development of solid waste management infrastructure. At today’s meeting, September 28, the members of the Foreign Policy and European Integration Commission approved positively the initiation of negotiations and the signing of an agreement in this regard.
The money will be used for the construction of solid waste management infrastructure, the purchase of equipment and machinery for transport, sorting, recycling, composting in several districts of the country: Ungheni, Nisporeni, Călărași, Edineț, Dondușeni, Ocnița, Briceni, Cahul, Cantemir, Taraclia and the local authorities of UTA Gagauzia.

The works will be carried out within the “Solid waste in the Republic of Moldova” project, which is to be implemented in the period 2023-2027.
The 25 million euro loan has a 15-year term, which also includes the four-year grace period.
