The Cabinet of Ministers approved a mechanism that will facilitate access to EU funds dedicated to reducing unemployment, improving job quality, and promoting social innovation. The mechanism takes the form of the Regulation on the Republic of Moldova’s participation in the “Employment and Social Innovation” strand (EaSI) of the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+).
The Regulation defines the conditions, principles, and stages for participating in EaSI projects, identifies the actions and sectors eligible for funding, sets the eligibility criteria for entities to join projects, and outlines the available forms of financing.
By approving this Regulation, Moldovan legal entities become eligible to respond to the European Commission’s calls for proposals under the same terms as those in EU member states.

“It is a project that helps us increase care for the vulnerable categories of society,” Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.
The EaSI strand is an EU program with a total budget of €762 million for 2021–2027. It supports projects in areas such as combating unemployment, labor mobility, social inclusion, and improving working conditions. Participation grants access to non-reimbursable grants, support for developing social services, and opportunities for transnational cooperation.
