Moldova Digital Summit: Uniting Global Tech Leaders to Drive Digital Transformation

The “Moldova Digital Summit” is set to bring together prominent names from the national and international ICT industry, government officials, business community leaders, country development partners, and representatives from diplomatic missions. Renowned experts from Romania, Estonia, Latvia, the United Kingdom, Belgium, and the United States will share their experiences on digital transformation, technological innovations, and regulatory aspects of artificial intelligence. This forum serves as a comprehensive platform for accessing vital technological resources, expertise, know-how, collaboration opportunities, and investments.

Among the esteemed guests is David Rowan, Manager of VOYAGERS Climate-Tech and Health-Tech Funds, a prolific speaker in his field who has authored the best-selling book “Non-Bullshit Innovation: Radical Ideas from the World’s Smartest Minds.” He will discuss the impact of artificial intelligence, drawing from his interactions with notable founders of WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Google, Didi, Spotify, and Twitter, as well as ambitious startups from Tel Aviv to Shenzhen.

Ray Pinto, Senior Director for Digital Transformation Policy at DIGITALEUROPE, will also attend the Moldova Digital Summit. With over 20 years of experience in government affairs, Pinto is responsible for digital transformation strategy and provides policy recommendations to government stakeholders. He leads the Digital Transformation Policy Group, assisting its members in advancing vertical industry areas such as cybersecurity, data protection, international trade, emerging technologies (AI, blockchain, IoT, etc.), and skill development.

Denisa Avram, Senior Consultant at Apco Worldwide, a seasoned professional in public affairs specializing in e-commerce platform regulation and competition policies, is expected at the summit in Chisinau. She manages Glovo’s engagement in Central and Eastern Europe across eight markets in the region. Previously, she worked in Brussels for eBay, focusing on product safety, intellectual property rights, platform regulation, and competition policy.

Rick Rasmussen, from the University of California, Berkeley, hailing from Silicon Valley, brings rich industry and academic experience. He has been part of the leadership teams of three companies that started from scratch but grew to be worth billions of dollars. Rasmussen possesses the ability to connect governments and economic development agencies with resources available in Silicon Valley. He has also developed over 200 hours of entrepreneurship courses to help build entrepreneurial ecosystems globally.

With 55 speakers in attendance, the Moldova Digital Summit highlights international experiences concerning strategies, policies, and legislative frameworks in digital economic development. The first day of the summit will culminate in a festive gala organized by the Moldova Innovation Technology Park, where the winners of the Moldova Innovation Awards 2023 (MIA) will be honored, with participation from companies in the tech and creative industries.

The second day will focus on mechanisms for securing investments in future technologies and developing digital culture by promoting adaptable digital skills for the future. Experts will elucidate the systemic changes involved in the digital transformation of societies, providing examples of how it alters the way we think and operate, with information technologies bridging the past, present, and future.

The third day of the summit will offer captivating experiences at the “Tekwill Expo Day” for both guests and the general public. Visitors will learn about technologies applied in the education process and explore the best engineering projects and programs created by young talents. The exhibition will showcase various technologies developed and implemented in recent years, widely used in the learning process. The event will feature workshops, interactive activities, program presentations, and more.

The Moldova Digital Summit is the country’s major event in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry. It serves as an effective platform for dialogue among key players in the digital industry, aiming to provide technology-driven solutions to complex national issues. The event is organized by ATIC under the auspices of the Prime Minister and is funded by USAID, the Governments of Sweden, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, and the EU Delegation. Several other international and local partners, including GIZ Moldova, the Investment Agency, AmCham, Orange, Helvetas, UNDP, and others, have also contributed to the event.
