Moldova Honey Awards 2025: The First National Competition for Beekeepers

For the first time in the Republic of Moldova, local beekeepers can showcase their skills and promote their products in a national competition: the Moldova Honey Awards 2025. The contest is organized by the National Association of Beekeepers of the Republic of Moldova with the support of the USAID Moldova Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Project. This initiative marks a milestone in the development and recognition of the beekeeping sector in the Republic of Moldova.

According to agromedia.md, the competition aims to highlight the diversity of local honey and showcase the hard work of beekeepers. Moldova, renowned for its agricultural traditions and favorable beekeeping environment, offers immense potential for high-quality honey production. In this context, the Moldova Honey Awards provides an excellent platform to promote this industry locally and internationally.

Participation is open to legally registered companies that produce honey and meet specific criteria, including maintaining at least 100 bee colonies and producing a minimum of 500 kilograms per type of honey. Additionally, the product labels and visual identity must meet established standards.

A jury of experts will analyze the honey samples. They will evaluate the samples based on both chemical quality and product presentation. The participation fee is 500 lei per sample.
