Moldova Launches National Institute for Agricultural and Veterinary Research in 2024

In the coming year, five research and innovation organizations will be reorganized, announced Rodica Reșitca, Head of the Agriculture Policy Consultancy Service, for Radio Moldova. According to her, in 2024, the National Institute for Applied Agricultural and Veterinary Medicine will be established in the Republic of Moldova.

“The Scientific-Practical Institute of Horticulture and Food Technologies, the National Institute for Viticulture and Viniculture, the Institute of Biotechnologies in Zootechnics and Veterinary Medicine, the Institute of Pedology, Agrochemistry, and Soil Protection ‘Nicolae Dimo,’ and the Public Institution ‘Center for Animal Improvement and Reproduction’ will be reorganized. We will analyze the situation of these institutions, next week we will determine how these institutions will function, and later we will establish a budget for the National Institute for Applied Agricultural and Veterinary Medicine,” said Rodica Reșitca, Head of the Agriculture Policy Consultancy Service.

Yesterday, Minister Vladimir Bolea specified that the new National Institute for Applied Agricultural and Veterinary Medicine will be reorganized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Research. According to him, the new institute will be developed following the models of the Netherlands and Romania.

Vladimir Bolea also emphasized that our country needs more professional agronomists and veterinarians, and scientists should conduct more research in the field of agricultural science. Today, the minister also stated that several laboratories at the Faculty of Agricultural, Forestry, and Environmental Sciences and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Technical University of Moldova will be modernized.
