Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine have signed a joint declaration on combating cross-border crime

The border authorities of the Republic of Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine signed a Joint Declaration on Cooperation in Combating Cross-Border Crime on June 10. The parties signed the document during a ceremony marking the 34th anniversary of the Border Police of the Republic of Moldova.

Through the declaration, the three countries commit to strengthening cooperation in the exchange of operational intelligence, combating drug trafficking, preventing the smuggling of arms and ammunition, tackling illegal migration and human trafficking, and countering contraband activities.

The agreement also commits the parties to organizing joint exercises and harmonizing operational procedures to improve their response to security threats affecting the region’s borders.

The Border Police of the Republic of Moldova celebrates its 34th anniversary today. On this occasion, the head of the institution, Ruslan Galushca, delivered a congratulatory message to Border Police personnel.
