Fifty-five Moldovan rescuers from the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the MAI left on a mission to Turkey. The announcement was made by the country’s president, Maia Sandu, on her Facebook page.
“Fifty-five Moldovan rescuers from the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the MAI left this evening on a mission to Turkey to join the rescuers from other countries in freeing and saving the lives of people in the affected localities. Dear rescuers, you have a long way ahead of you and a difficult mission – you will work without breaks, seeking to save as many human lives as possible. We thank you for your dedication and we are waiting for you safe and sound at home”, wrote Sandu.

In this context, the head of state sent her condolences to the Turkish people.
“I send my condolences to the families affected by this calamity and I wish strength, courage and hope to all those who are fighting against the clock to save people from the clutches of the disaster,” the president also wrote.
