The Foreign Policy Committee of the Parliament approves the candidacies of two new Moldovan ambassadors: Inga Ionesii and Sergiu Gurduza.
Inga Ionesii is expected to become Moldova’s ambassador to India. She has over 25 years of experience in public administration, diplomacy, and international economic cooperation. She works at the Ministry of Economy, Chisinau City Hall, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs over the years. Between 2016 and 2020, she serves as Moldova’s ambassador to Estonia. While at the Ministry of Economy, she coordinates negotiations and implementation of the EU Association Agreement and the DCFTA, along with several international trade agreements. Since 2021, she works at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she heads the Institutional Management Directorate and contributes to organizing the 2023 European Political Community Summit. She receives the “Civil Merit” medal.
Sergiu Gurduza currently completes his mandate as Consul General of the Republic of Moldova in Istanbul. He has over 16 years of experience in diplomacy, justice, governance, and foreign relations. He previously serves as Deputy Minister of Justice, senior state advisor to the Prime Minister, member of the Central Electoral Commission, advisor to the Speaker of Parliament, and works in civil society organizations. In 2025, he receives the state distinction “Order of Honour.”
Both nominations still require government approval, after which the President of the Republic of Moldova signs the official appointment decrees.
