Moldovan athlete Eugen Mihalchan won a bronze medal at the World Freestyle Wrestling Championships under 20 years old and up to 86 kg.
Mihalceanu won the bouts, successively defeating representatives of Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Iran, losing in the semifinals to the future champion, a representative of Japan. In the fight for third place, he defeated the athlete from Armenia.
This result was also achieved thanks to honored coaches Anatoly Zakon, Maxim Gylke, Roman Dermenzhi, and Boris Savva.
