The song of our respresentatives is called “Train”. The title itself represents a metaphor, since the idea of the song is about uniting the two countries that were once together – Moldova and Romania. Zdob și Zdub, together with the Advahov Brothers sing about a confusion that the ”train” has every time it has to pass a border. ”As if it rides from home to home”. See the complete lyrcis below:
Train
The train’s going, just like flying
From one country to another
It is going but confused:
What’s the country? Are they fused?
Is it old or is it new?
Seems like one, but also two
Both together and apart
Are there two, or just one?
Hey ho, Let’s go
Folklore and Rock’n’roll
The train’s route is east to west
Chisinau – Bucharest
Both in that land and in this
We dance hora – it’s a bliss
And in each country within
Magic’s made with violin
When the train gets to a stand
Feels like almost the same land
Feels like went without a change
Home-to-home. What an exchange
Hey ho. Let’s go!
Folklore and Rock’n’roll
The train’s route is east to west
Chisinau – Bucharest
Hey ho. Let’s go!
Folklore and Rock’n’roll
The train’s route is east to west
Chisinau – Bucharest
Hey ho. Let’s go!
Folklore and Rock’n’roll
The train’s route is east to west
Chisinau – Bucharest
Chisinau – Bucharest
Going quickly, going good
Train of our nationhood
But it cannot comprehend
What’s the country? Where’s the end?
Is it old or is it new?
Seems like one, but also two
Both together and apart
Are there two, or just one?
Hey ho. Let’s go!
Folklore and Rock’n’roll
The train’s route is east to west
Chisinau – Bucharest
Hey ho. Let’s go!
Folklore and Rock’n’roll
The train’s route is east to west
Chisinau – Bucharest
Hey ho. Let’s go!
Folklore and Rock’n’roll
The train’s route is east to west
Chisinau – Bucharest
The show was as spectacular as the song itself. The stage filled with colors, emotions and energy from the very moment that the singers stepped on it. They choose to wear colorful costumes, with national elements on them.
A moment full of joy and emotion was when the public standed to applaud the boys, when the song has ended – a powerful message that indicates how the European community is fascinated about our culture. See the whole performance again:
