On May 13, the 19th edition of the “Museum Night” event will take place. Museums in Moldova will participate, for the first time, in a joint edition with those in Romania. Cultural and artistic activities can be visited for free. During the event, visitors will have the opportunity to visit museums and admire exhibitions, cultural interventions, and artistic experiments, projections, presentations, performances, workshops, street and indoor animations, concerts, and interactive tours, as stated in a press release by the ChiÈ™inău City Hall.
As every year, museums and exhibition spaces will compete to propose surprising programs for all ages.
Over 200 events are already included in the program, many of which are premieres, covering 28 counties in Romania, as well as two districts in the Republic of Moldova and Chișinău.
In Chișinău, the event will take place in five museums: the Art Museum, the History Museum of the City, the National Museum of Romanian Literature, the National Museum of Ethnography, and the National Museum of Moldovan History.

On May 13, until after midnight, visitors are invited to wear their most comfortable shoes and explore the fascinating collections of museums or enjoy the artistic interventions and performances proposed by partner cultural spaces. Hundreds of special events will be organized in museum spaces, in observatories, in cathedral, church, and synagogue spaces, in theaters, Athenaeums, mausoleums, in city halls, in castles, palaces, and fortresses, towers and bastions, in libraries, in creative studios, cultural centers, in schools and universities, in creative urban spaces, in science and experimentation spaces, in spaces of historical memory, in art pavilions and galleries, in auction houses and art fairs, in nursing homes, or in paper mills. Museum Night will be everywhere.
Museum Night is organized by the National Network of Museums in Romania (RNMR) and has become, in the last two decades, one of the strongest cultural brands, a true social phenomenon, with an audience of one million people throughout the country.
In Bucharest, Museum Night set an absolute record of 64 cultural objects, being the first time in the history of the event’s organization when more than 80% of the points of interest in the city circuit were full of people waiting to enter and enjoy the program offered.
