New Rules for Declaring International Mail Items Over 150 Euros

Starting August 1, 2024, new rules will apply for declaring goods from international postal items valued between €150.01 and €1,000. You need to use a customs declaration with a reduced data set H6 to declare these items. You can submit this electronic form to the “ASYCUDA World” information system through a representative, such as a customs broker or postal operator.

The Customs Service specified that the electronic customs declaration eliminates the need for physical interaction between the individual and the customs officer. You can handle customs clearance through the postal operator, who will manage submitting the customs declaration, providing additional supporting documents, and paying import duties. The recipient can make payments for import duties through the Government Electronic Payment Service MPay.

The advantage of the procedure is that individuals can declare international mail remotely through an authorized customs representative.
