Photo The Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry has departed for Tokyo: Moldovan wines should be introduced to the Japanese market

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, Sergiu Gherciu, is visiting Tokyo, Japan from 25-29 March to enhance and expand Moldovan-Japanese cooperation in the agricultural sector.

Today, Sergiu Gherciu met with Takahashi Mitsuo, the Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan. Officials discussed cooperation on rural development, tourism, climate resilience, and agricultural technologies and research.

“We aim to enhance the presence of Moldovan wine producers in the global market, including Japan. We are confident in the quality of Moldovan wines and believe they deserve recognition in Japan,” Sergiu Gherciu said.

Takahashi Mitsuo expressed interest in promoting Moldovan wines on the Japanese market.

The meeting agenda will proceed with additional government officials and business representatives from Japan, to enhance agricultural partnerships between the two countries.
