The Prime Minister, Dorin Recean, held a meeting with the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the Transnistrian Settlement Process, Thomas Mayr-Harting, as announced by the Government. The officials discussed the security situation in the region in the context of the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine, as well as measures for the economic and social integration of citizens on both banks of the Dniester River.
Vice Prime Minister for Reintegration, Oleg Serebrian, and the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Ambassador Kelly Keiderling, also participated in the discussions.
“The Head of the Executive emphasized that the Government, through sustained efforts, aligns the region with the objectives of peace and security, economic development, and social protection. The officials emphasized the need to maintain dialogue with international partners involved in the negotiation process regarding the Transnistrian settlement to ensure stability and avoid escalating tensions,” the Government announced.

Another objective mentioned by Prime Minister Dorin Recean is the transparency of the business environment on the left bank of the Dniester River and the acceleration of the integration process for citizens in the Transnistrian region.
Ambassador Thomas Mayr-Harting appreciated the authorities’ efforts in maintaining peace and security in the region and reiterated the support of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in the peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian conflict.
