The European Union’s newly announced support package for the Republic of Moldova, unveiled this week, will help the country “overcome current challenges and build a more prosperous and secure future for our citizens,” stated Vice Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
“We are grateful to the European Union for the new support package that will cover the following areas: economic development and connectivity, reforms, energy, security, and strategic communication. This assistance package presented by the European Commission is a clear demonstration of the EU’s strong commitment to the Republic of Moldova. We understand that this support is not only financial assistance but also an expression of the EU’s trust and solidarity towards us. Together, we will succeed in overcoming current challenges and building a more prosperous and secure future for our citizens,” affirmed the head of diplomacy in Chisinau.

According to Vice Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Moldova’s accession to the European Union represents the “only solution for peace, stability, and prosperity in our republic.”
“We have the full support and assistance of the European Union and its member states in difficult times through concrete projects that benefit all citizens of the Republic of Moldova,” added the official.
It is worth mentioning that on June 28, the European Commission announced a support package for the Republic of Moldova, aimed at countering the consequences of Russia’s war against Ukraine, which are being felt in Moldova, and bringing Moldova closer to the EU.
