President Maia Sandu Wraps Up European Political Community Summit in Spain

The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, has concluded her visit to the European Political Community summit hosted by Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez in the Spanish city of Granada. The event brought together over 40 heads of state and government and leaders of European institutions.

During the meeting, the President spoke to European leaders about Moldova being on the front line of the fight for democracy and how EU membership is the only way to protect our democracy.

“On the sidelines of the summit, the President had discussions with the President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, the President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, the Prime Minister of Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, and the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte,” announced the Presidency.

Additionally, the President participated in the cultural program hosted by the Spanish royal family, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia, at the Alhambra Palace in Granada – an important Moorish architectural monument in Spain.
