The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, issued a message of support following the presidential elections and the referendum on joining the European Union, held on Sunday, October 20.
“Congratulations Moldova! Thank you for your courage. Thank you, Maia Sandu. Your leadership and courage have changed the course of history. Europe is Moldova. Moldova is Europe. Our future will be written together,” Metsola wrote on her X (formerly Twitter) account.
We remind you that Maia Sandu is the winner of the first round of the presidential elections, according to the results after processing 99% of the reports. The head of state achieved a score of over 42%, which is higher than in the first round of the 2020 presidential elections (36.16%).
