Republic of Moldova to receive over $88 million grant

The World Bank will provide Moldova with a grant of 88.4 million dollars. Parliament today ratified a multi-donor trust fund grant agreement between Moldova and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Development Association.

Thus, the grant will be paid in a single payment and will be meant to co-finance Moldova’s Emergency Response, Sustainability, and Competitiveness Program. The second Development Policy Operation.

Financial assistance available until September 30, 2023, will be provided by the United States and Switzerland based on eight actions implemented by the Republic of Moldova. The money will be used to finance the needs of the state budget, mitigate the negative consequences generated by the war in Ukraine, and ensure the sustainability and competitiveness of our country.

The Multilateral Donor Trust Fund Grant Agreement between Moldova and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Development Association was signed on August 9, 2023.
