Romanian Ambassador Visits Moldovan Parliament to Discuss Justice Reform

Romanian Ambassador, Cristian Leon Țurcanu, paid a visit to the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. The diplomat met with the President of the Legal Commission, Olesea Stamate.

The two discussed the progress of the justice system reform and the efforts made by the authorities in Chisinau to combat corruption.

“Romania remains firmly committed to supporting the efforts made by the pro-European government in Chisinau to continue approaching the European Union and uphold the principles of the rule of law and democracy, which form the foundation of a strong, modern, and resilient state,” stated Cristian Leon Țurcanu.

It is worth noting that this meeting took place after the Supreme Council of Magistracy (CSJ) ordered the reevaluation of 21 candidates for positions in the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) and CSJ on August 1st.
