Romanian PM Ciucă reaffirms support for Moldova at the meeting with President Sandu

Romanian Prime Minister, Nicolae Ciucă, arrived in Chișinău where he was welcomed by the President of the country, Maia Sandu. During the meeting, the head of state thanked Romania for the support provided during a difficult period that Moldova is going through.

“We came out well from the winter and this happened also thanks to your support. We have important issues on the agenda, on the one hand, we are trying to maintain stability in the country and offer security to citizens, on the other hand, we are trying to increase the resilience of the economy, to improve the living standards in the Republic of Moldova and you support us on all these dimensions,” said Maia Sandu.

In turn, the Romanian Prime Minister stated that he came to reaffirm the announced support for the Republic of Moldova.

“Romania is making efforts to ensure that within the EU, as well as with our other strategic partners, attention and necessary support continue to be provided in order to maintain governmental, economic, and social stability. I also come with confidence that what we discussed with you and Mr. Recean in Bucharest, will continue to deepen today regarding the economic support that we must provide to the Republic of Moldova, to make sure that the citizens of the Republic of Moldova have the confidence that they put their trust in the current government and the current government does nothing but take measures to maintain economic stability and improve the quality of life,” declared the Romanian official.
