From 31 May to 2 June 2024, guests will visit the Republic of Moldova. The Irish Parliament Representatives House Speaker, Sean O’Fearghail, will come to Moldova.
It is the first visit to Moldova of an Irish speaker in the 25 years since the establishment of Moldovan-Irish diplomatic relations.
“The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Irish Parliament, Sean O’Fearghail, will meet with the Speaker of the Parliament, Igor Grosu. Afterward, the two Speakers of Parliament will hold a press briefing, scheduled for Friday, 31 May, at 14:00. The agenda also includes meetings with the Chair of the Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration, Ina Cosheru, members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Ireland in the Moldovan Parliament and Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popsoi, Minister of Foreign Affairs,” reads the Parliament’s press release.
Discussions will also focus on our country’s European agenda, Ireland’s support for our efforts to join the European Union, the intensification of parliamentary dialogue between the Republic of Moldova and Ireland, and trade boosting and economic cooperation.
According to the source, a senators’ delegation will accompany the Irish Speaker on his visit to Moldova.
