Odesa Regional Council deputy Evgheni Filonov, the son-in-law of Alexandr Rozenberg, the head of the so-called government of the Transnistrian region, faces charges in a case involving false declarations of information. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) made the announcement, IPN reports.

According to the institution, Filonov failed to declare loans totaling over 58 million hryvnias (about 1.1 million euros) in his 2024 and 2025 asset declarations. Authorities had already identified irregularities in his previous declarations. After verification, investigators established that he did not declare assets and liabilities exceeding 60 million hryvnias, including financial resources, bank accounts, and other property.

Filonov serves as a deputy of the Odesa Regional Council and also directs the municipal enterprise “Sports Palace,” which regional authorities oversee. In 2022, journalists from RISE Moldova and Slidstvo.Info established that Filonov married Valentina Rozenberg, the daughter of Alexandr Rozenberg. Rozenberg heads the so-called government of the Transnistrian region and ranks among the most influential officials in the Tiraspol administration, which he has led since 2022.
