The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) decided on Wednesday, October 2, to print over 850,000 ballot papers for polling stations abroad for the October 20, 2024, republican constitutional referendum and the presidential election in the Republic of Moldova.
Of the total number of ballots, 775 350 will be in Romanian, 76 350 in Russian, and 500 in Gagauz.
“According to the legal provisions, the CEC dispatches the ballots to the polling stations of the polling stations constituted outside the Republic of Moldova based on the estimated number of voters established based on the information submitted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the information accumulated by the CEC, but not more than 5,000 ballots per polling station,” reads a press release issued by the commission’s representatives.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will distribute the printed ballots to the electoral bureaus of polling stations abroad.
A total of 11 candidates have registered to run in the presidential elections on October 20, coinciding with the constitutional referendum on our country’s accession to the European Union.
