The Council of Europe will provide support to the Ministry of Internal Affairs

The Delegation of the Council of Europe (CoE), led by the Special Representative of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe for Migration and Refugees, Leyla Kayacik, who is on a fact-finding visit to the Republic of Moldova, yesterday, 13 June , a working meeting with the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Interior (MAI), Jana Costachi, writes realitatea.md.

Thus, the meeting addressed issues related to the multidimensional management of the refugee flow in Ukraine, the challenges encountered, as well as the identification of targeted actions of the practical way in which the CoE can support the MAI, in the context of humanitarian crisis management, focusing on protection against violence, exploitation and trafficking in human beings of the most vulnerable categories of persons: women, unaccompanied and separated children, as well as the elderly.

Jana Costachi made a retrospective of the activities undertaken and highlighted the needs of the MAI subdivisions, in ensuring the safety and security of all citizens on the territory of the country.

“The priority of the ministry is to develop a national action plan on the response we have to the integration of refugees, respecting the norms and fundamental human rights, taking into account the expectations and demands of refugees regarding their future and capacity. institutional and financial situation of each institution “, mentioned the Secretary of State.
