The first Moldovan-Egyptian economic forum was inaugurated during the first working visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Nicu Popescu, who is on a trip to Cairo.

Popescu stated that he met at the forum with Moldovan and Egyptian businessmen who want to diversify their markets.

“I had the pleasure of participating in the meeting of businessmen from Moldova and Egypt. Faced with the current challenges, we are with entrepreneurs for the diversification of markets and the increase of exports, and I am sure that following this event our products will be more present on the Egyptian market”, announced Popescu.

According to the Moldovan official, the Cooperation Protocol between the Cairo Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova was signed during the forum.

“We thank all those who supported the MFAIE initiative to organize this economic forum on the sidelines of the official delegation’s visit to Cairo: the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Moldova, USAID Moldova, as well as the 20 representatives of the business environment and professional associations that is in Egypt these days,” Popescu’s announcement also states.
