The government has extended the VAT refund for farmers until 2025. Farmers can apply for the VAT refund by submitting an electronically signed application to the State Tax Service’s email address, Bani.md reports.
The beneficiaries of the VAT refund are enterprises that operate in agriculture, are registered as VAT payers, and register VAT amounts for deduction in the subsequent tax period.
“Eligible for the VAT Reimbursement Program are considered enterprises for which not less than 95% of the activity carried out during 2022 represents one or more of the activities stipulated in groups 01.1-01.6 of the Classification of Activities in the Moldovan Economy,” the statement issued by the Tax Office reads.

Farmers who suffered losses due to Russia’s embargo on Moldovan plant products from the Republic of Moldova also qualify for VAT reimbursement. In this case, they must present proof of ownership or use of the perennial plantation and a certificate on the agricultural crop and its fruit-bearing status issued by the local public administration authority.
