The “Respect Moldova” Party, founded by Eugeniu Nichiforciuc, will not field a candidate for the presidency of Moldova. The National Political Council made this decision during their meeting this weekend. Photos from the event show that Silvia Radu, former interim mayor of Chisinau and former Minister of Health in the Filip Government, has joined the party.
“Respect Moldova will not field a candidate for the presidency of Moldova. The members of the National Political Council also believe that the most significant challenge for the party will be the parliamentary elections in 2025, for which they have already started preparations.
The members of the National Political Council agreed to actively participate in the referendum campaign, as one of the party’s core principles is to build Europe at home in Moldova. Respect Moldova believes that European integration is the only path forward, and the constitutional referendum on October 20, 2024, is an opportunity to reaffirm its pro-European stance and commit to making the European integration process irreversible,” according to the party’s message.
