The US Embassy in Moldova launched “The Young Transatlantic Innovation Leaders Initiative Fellowship” Program

The Young Transatlantic Innovation Leaders Initiative (YTILI) for Moldova represents the premier entrepreneurial program sponsored by the U.S. Department of State for emerging talents across Europe. In 2024, a dynamic cohort of young entrepreneurs hailing from 45 countries will engage in an immersive fellowship program as part of this initiative.

YTILI serves as a platform for fostering innovation, collaboration, and cross-cultural exchange among the next generation of European entrepreneurs. Through a comprehensive fellowship experience, participants gain valuable insights, mentorship, and networking opportunities, all aimed at nurturing their entrepreneurial spirit and contributing to the growth of innovative ventures.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

The Young Transatlantic Innovation Leaders Initiative (YTILI) Fellowship Program is an opportunity for young European business professionals to expand their networks, gain perspective, and engage with the U.S. business sector to exchange innovative ideas and best practices.
The program includes a virtual component, a four-week Fellowship in the United States, and the opportunity for continued engagement after Fellows return home.

ELIGIBILITY

To apply, you must:

• Be a mid-level professional, 25-35 years old at the time of the program 
• Be a citizen of Moldova (permanent residents of the Transnistria region may be considered regardless of citizenship). Note: Citizens of eligible countries residing in a different eligible country due to specific geo-political reasons may apply and will be considered by the Department of State on a case-by-case basis).
• Demonstrate proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Business or social entrepreneur with a demonstrated track record of at least two years of experience successfully managing an entrepreneurial venture in their home countries.
• Demonstrate commitment to develop, enhance, or lead an existing venture. During the application process, successful candidates must provide a well-articulated action plan they will work to refine and for which they will seek support during their fellowships.
• Committed to the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Are eligible and able to receive a U.S. J-1 Visa. 
• Are committed to returning to his or her home country after completion of the program. 
• Are not a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident of the United States or have applied for U.S. permanent residency in the past three years. 
• Are not a U.S. government employee. 
• Preference will be given to candidates who have not previously participated in U.S. Government programs or spent significant amounts of time in the United States.

PROGRAM DATES

The YTILI Fellowship Program will be implemented using a hybrid model, with virtual activities leading up to an in-person, U.S.-based exchange. The U.S. based portion of the exchange will take place for six weeks in Fall of 2024.

Tentative dates are September 17 – October 25, 2024.
