The Republic of Moldova will benefit from non-refundable financial assistance in the amount of 19.5 million dollars, additionally granted by the United States of America. During yesterday’s meeting, the Parliament ratified the 14th Amendment to the assistance agreement regarding the development objective between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the US Government. The project was voted on in two readings by 55 deputies.
The additional funding of 19.5 million dollars will be used to strengthen our country’s energy security, reduce dependence on the Russian Federation by connecting key elements with European systems, as well as diversify the natural gas supply and increase energy efficiency.
After granting the additional financing, the Republic of Moldova will benefit, in total, from non-reimbursable assistance in the amount of 172 million dollars.
