Transnistria is drowning in debt! The debt to Gazprom has exceeded 10 billion dollars, Ceban Claims

The President of the Board of Directors of the Russian-Moldovan natural gas distribution company Moldovagaz, Vadim Ceban, did not specify the exact composition of the debt, writes Bani.md.

The debt for Russian gas supplied to consumers in the unrecognized Transnistria has exceeded 10 billion dollars, announced the President of the Board of Directors of the Russian-Moldovan gas distribution company Moldovagaz, Vadim Ceban.

“This debt has already exceeded 10 billion dollars,” he mentioned.

The debt of consumers in Transnistria, which has accumulated due to systematic non-payments, is now reflected in Moldovagaz’s balance sheet. The government of the Republic of Moldova does not acknowledge this debt, as it does not control the situation in this region. Chisinau does not attempt to prevent the supply on the left bank, as, in addition to Russian citizens, Moldovan citizens also reside there. In the region, there is also the Power Plant of the State District of Moldova, which supplies the republic with cheap electricity and operates on Russian gas.

There is also a debt of Moldovan consumers on the right bank of the Dniester River. Previously, the official representative of Gazprom, Sergei Kupriyanov, stated that this part of the debt amounts to 433 million dollars, and considering delayed payments, the total debt reaches 709 million dollars, but Moldova does not acknowledge this debt either.
