The Republic of Moldova is a European country, which bravely defends democracy and European values. The statement was made by the Head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, during a press conference in Chisinau.

“The Republic of Moldova is a European country, it is part of our European family and it is a country that defends its democracy and our common values ​​with courage and determination. It is our common interest to support you, we have been with you, and we remain with you because we are deeply impressed by how determined you are and protect democracy, peace, respect for international law and our common values”, said the Head of the Commission European.

During her visit to Chisinau, Ursula von der Leyen announced that the European Union will offer the Republic of Moldova an aid of 200 million euros to deal with the energy and electricity crisis this year, and another 50 million euros will be offered as fixed budget support.
