U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken held a joint press conference with Moldovan President Maia Sandu. He said that America sees Moldova as a reliable partner and will provide all possible support to back Moldova’s sovereignty and democracy. For her part, Maia Sandu thanked the United States for the support given to Moldova and voiced hope for a long-lasting and productive cooperation with the USA.
“It’s wonderful to be back to see you, to see all of our colleagues, and just to reaffirm the strong commitment of the United States to Moldova’s sovereignty and to Moldova’s success. We see you as a very valuable partner. We have a very commitment to working together in all the areas that you suggested, including building a resilient demoсracy, supporting economic growth and opportunity for all of those who are working to help you continue to diversify your energy supply so that you’re not dependent on anyone, any one source. And of course, making sure that fundamentally, the people of Moldova are the ones who decide their own future and their own force.
