MEP Siegfried Muresan announced at a press conference that negotiations have started in the European Parliament for the next multiannual budget, including the Republic of Moldova as a candidate country for EU membership.

”We are now beginning the negotiations for the next seven-year multiannual budget for the Republic of Moldova. We are currently in the 2021-2027 budget, which was decided in 2020 when Moldova was not yet a candidate country. The MEP emphasized that the 2028-2034 budget will allow Moldova to access more substantial pre-accession funds, including for the agricultural sector. ”In 2028, Moldova will be able to receive, predictably and very clearly, all pre-accession funds, including for agriculture,” he added.

Muresan reiterated the European Union’s support for Moldova’s integration, emphasizing that the allocated funds will contribute to improving the lives of citizens and the country’s economic development. The negotiations for the new budget will be completed by early 2028, providing clear financing prospects for key sectors in Moldova.
