The authorities are planning to create an English language “for European integration” programme for government officials. The statement was made from the rostrum of the Parliament by Artur Mija, Secretary General of the Government.
While the human resources management project was being debated. Mija was asked how the government will ensure that it can find enough people to hire who have an international language.
“It’s much more beneficial for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova if our officials know English very well. We are thinking of making a centralised programme in the government where civil servants can access a specialised English curriculum for European integration,” Mija replied.
The submitted draft concerned the expansion of the civil service list and changes to the granting of annual leave. The initiative was approved by 56 Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) during the first reading.
